There has been an aikido dojo at Lower Hardres Village Hall for over 30 years. It is found just outside Canterbury, Kent in a delightful part of the countryside. The hall itself is a great setting for our traditional martial arts training and we are lucky to have use of it.

For over twenty five years we have been part of the Komyokan Aikido Association, where we have followed the teachings of Terry Ezra sensei, who was based in Birkenhead, The Wirral, but who travelled to many places worldwide to teach. Ezra sensei visited us for weekend courses and Shinbukan students still regularly visit Ezra sensei’s dojo, Komyokan, in Birkenhead.

Throughout the dojo’s existence, we have been linked to the Aikikai Foundation in Tokyo, Japan, the founder of Aikido’s organisation. Our dan gradings are issued by the Aikikai.
